Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, curry leaves, ginger, and garlic.

Saute until aromatic.

Add chopped onion and green chili. Cook until onion turns translucent.

Add turmeric powder and red chili powder. Mix well.

Add chopped tomatoes, sugar, and salt. Mix well and cover the pan.

Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes are cooked and the chutney thickens.

Remove from heat and let it cool.
