Croquettes originated in France and are popular in many cuisines around the world.

Cook the lentils according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a pan, sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.

In a large bowl, combine the cooked lentils, sautéed onion and garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, parsley, cumin powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

Shape the mixture into small croquettes.

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.

Fry the croquettes until golden brown on all sides.

Remove from the pan and let them rest for 10 minutes.
