  1. In a bowl, combine the textured vegetable protein (TVP) and vegetable broth. Let it sit for 5 minutes until the TVP absorbs the liquid.
  2. In a separate small bowl, mix together soy sauce, nutritional yeast, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, fennel seeds, liquid smoke, olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Pour the mixture over the rehydrated TVP and stir until well coated.
  4. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add the TVP mixture. Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the TVP becomes crispy and browned.
  5. Remove from heat and serve as desired.
