Dates are one of the oldest cultivated fruits and have been a staple food in the Middle East for thousands of years.
This is vegan and gluten free recipe. Dish can be prepared in 105 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 8.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch (23x23 cm) baking dish.

In a medium bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the vegan butter using a fork or pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

In a separate bowl, mix the dates and vanilla extract until well combined. Spread the date mixture evenly over the crust.

Sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture over the top of the date layer.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.

Allow to cool completely in the baking dish before cutting into bars.
