  1. Rinse the grape leaves and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, mix the rice, chopped onion, chopped tomato, chopped parsley, chopped mint leaves, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and sugar.
  3. Place a grape leaf on a flat surface, shiny side down. Place a spoonful of the rice mixture in the center of the leaf.
  4. Fold the sides of the leaf over the filling, then roll it up tightly.
  5. Repeat with the remaining grape leaves and filling.
  6. Place the stuffed grape leaves in a pot, seam side down, and add water to cover them.
  7. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 40 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat and let them rest for 10 minutes.
  9. Serve warm or at room temperature.
