  2. Pressure cook the dal with 3 cups of water, turmeric powder, and salt for 3 whistles.
  3. Heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and curry leaves. Let them splutter.
  4. Add chopped onion, green chili, ginger, and garlic. Saute until the onion turns translucent.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft.
  6. Add red chili powder and mix well.
  7. Add the cooked dal to the pan and mix everything together.
  8. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  9. Serve hot with rice or roti.
