Drain and rinse the black beans.

In a food processor, combine the black beans, red bell pepper, red onion, garlic cloves, jalapeno pepper, cilantro, breadcrumbs, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Pulse until well combined but still slightly chunky.

Form the mixture into patties and refrigerate for 5 minutes.

Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.

Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown.

Toast the hamburger buns.

Assemble the burgers by placing a black bean patty on the bottom bun, followed by lettuce, tomato, and avocado slices.
