Whiskey Glazed Carrots
Carrots are believed to have originated in Afghanistan over 5,000 years ago and were originally purple or white in color.

Peel and slice the carrots.

In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add the carrots. Cook for 5 minutes or until tender.

Drain the carrots and set aside.

In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

Add the whiskey, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.

Add the cooked carrots to the skillet and toss to coat them in the glaze.

Cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove from heat and let the carrots rest for 5 minutes before serving.
