Savory Avocado Donut
Avocados are technically a fruit, not a vegetable, and are often referred to as ‘alligator pears’ due to their shape and green, bumpy skin.
This is vegan and gluten free recipe. Dish can be prepared in 30 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 15.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a donut pan.

In a large bowl, mash the ripe avocados until smooth.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried parsley.

Add the flour mixture to the mashed avocados and mix well.

Gradually add the almond milk and lemon juice to the mixture, stirring until smooth.

Spoon the batter into the greased donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the donuts are golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

In a small bowl, mix together the vegan cream cheese and fresh chives.

Once the donuts have cooled, spread a layer of the cream cheese mixture on top of each donut.

Top each donut with a halved cherry tomato and a fresh basil leaf.
