Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent.

Add red bell pepper and asparagus, and cook for 5 minutes.

Pour in vegetable stock and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.

Use an immersion blender to puree the soup until smooth.

Stir in coconut milk, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves.
