Soak the chickpeas overnight in water.

Drain and rinse the soaked chickpeas.

Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Add chopped onion, garlic, and ginger. Saute until golden brown.

Add turmeric, cumin, coriander, garam masala, and salt. Stir well.

Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften.

Add the soaked and rinsed chickpeas to the pan. Mix well.

Add water, cover the pan, and simmer for 20-25 minutes.

Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.

Stir in lemon juice before serving.
