Soak rice, toor dal, chana dal, and urad dal in water for 2-3 hours.

Drain the water and grind the soaked ingredients along with red chili, curry leaves, ginger, asafoetida, and salt to a coarse batter.

Add water if required to adjust the consistency.

Heat a non-stick pan and spread a ladleful of the batter to form a pancake.

Drizzle oil around the edges and cook until the bottom side turns golden brown.

Flip the pancake and cook the other side until golden brown.

Repeat the process for the remaining batter.

Serve hot with coconut chutney or sambar.
