  2. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, bread crumbs, onion, garlic, parsley, oregano, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Pulse until well combined but still slightly chunky.
  3. Shape the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  4. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.
  5. Transfer the meatballs to a baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes.
  6. In the meantime, heat marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
  7. Serve the vegetarian meatballs with marinara sauce and garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
