In a pan, heat ghee and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, and asafoetida.

Add chopped tomatoes, tamarind pulp, turmeric powder, rasam powder, salt, and water.

Bring it to a boil and let it simmer for 10 minutes.

In a separate pan, temper black pepper and garlic cloves in ghee.

Add the tempering to the rasam.

Garnish with coriander leaves.
