  2. Drain and rinse the soaked beans.
  3. In a large pot, add the soaked beans, onion, garlic cloves, jalapeno pepper, canned diced tomatoes, tomato paste, ground cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and water.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Transfer the simmered beans to a baking dish and bake for 20 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes.
