  1. Wash and soak the chana dal and toor dal in water for 2 hours. Drain the water.
  2. In a blender, grind the soaked dals into a coarse paste.
  3. Transfer the dal paste to a mixing bowl and add rice flour, chopped onion, green chili, grated ginger, curry leaves, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Take a small portion of the dal mixture and shape it into a small patty.
  6. Carefully place the patties in the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides.
  7. Remove the lentil cakes from the oil and place them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  8. Serve hot with raita or chutney.
