Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, and cook until onions are translucent.

Add ground cumin, ground coriander, and turmeric powder. Stir well.

Add tomatoes and cook until they start to break down.

Add okra, lentils, vegetable broth, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.

Stir in fresh cilantro and lemon juice.

Let the stew rest for 5 minutes before serving.
