Rinse the red lentils and set aside.

Chop the Swiss chard, onion, garlic, carrot, and celery.

In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté until fragrant.

Add the carrot and celery, and cook for a few minutes until slightly softened.

Stir in the tomato paste, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Add the red lentils, Swiss chard, and vegetable broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the lentils are tender.

Stir in the lemon juice and let the stew rest for 10 minutes before serving.
