Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened.

Add the carrots, potatoes, vegetable broth, and canned diced tomatoes. Bring to a boil and let simmer for 15 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.

Stir in the green beans and frozen peas and let cook for another 5 minutes.
