In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.

In a separate large bowl, mix together the melted butter, sugar, molasses, and egg until well combined.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in the granulated sugar to coat.

Place the coated balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
