In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion, carrot, celery, and garlic. Cook until vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.

Add lentils, linguine, vegetable broth, dried thyme, bay leaves, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until lentils and linguine are cooked.

Remove bay leaves and stir in fresh parsley.
