Heat oil in a pan and add chopped onions, garlic, ginger, and green chili.

Saute until onions turn golden brown.

Add tomatoes and cook until they turn soft.

Add coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder, and salt. Mix well.

Add water and simmer for 5 minutes.

Let the mixture cool down slightly and blend it to a smooth paste.

Heat oil in the same pan and add the blended paste.
