Kusherie is a popular street food in Egypt and is often served with fried onions on top.

  1. Rinse the rice, lentils, and macaroni separately.
  2. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the onion and garlic until golden.
  3. Add the cumin, salt, and black pepper to the pot and stir for a minute.
  4. Add the rice, lentils, macaroni, chickpeas, vinegar, tomato sauce, and water to the pot. Bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 30 minutes or until the rice and lentils are cooked.
  6. Remove from heat and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  7. Fluff the kusherie with a fork and serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
