Fettuccine Alfredo, a popular Italian pasta dish, was created by Alfredo di Lelio in Rome. It was originally made with only three ingredients: fettuccine, butter, and Parmesan cheese.

Cook the fettuccine according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes, and sauté for 2 minutes.

Add the roasted red peppers and cook for another 5 minutes.

Transfer the mixture to a blender and blend until smooth.

Return the sauce to the pan and add the cooked fettuccine. Toss well to coat the pasta.

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Serve the fettuccine topped with fresh basil leaves and nutritional yeast.
