  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, molasses, egg, milk, and grated ginger.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chopped crystallized ginger.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Slice and serve.
