Rinse and soak the black beans overnight.

In a large pot, add the soaked beans, water, onion, garlic, green bell pepper, bay leaf, sazon seasoning, oregano, and salt. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to simmer for about 45 minutes or until the beans are tender.

In a separate pot, cook the rice according to package instructions.

Once the beans are cooked, remove the bay leaf and mash some of the beans to thicken the sauce.

In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté the cooked rice for a few minutes.
