  1. Soak the chana dal in water for 2 hours.
  2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds.
  3. Add chopped onion and saute until golden brown.
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft.
  6. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
  7. Drain the soaked chana dal and add it to the pressure cooker.
  8. Add chopped cabbage, green chilies, and water.
  9. Close the pressure cooker lid and cook for 3-4 whistles.
  10. Let the pressure release naturally and open the lid.
  11. Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  12. Serve hot with rice or roti.
