Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices.

Place the slices on a baking sheet and brush both sides with olive oil.

Bake for 5-7 minutes or until the bread is toasted.

Meanwhile, dice the tomatoes and finely chop the garlic and basil.

In a bowl, combine the tomatoes, garlic, basil, olive oil, salt, and black pepper.

Once the bread is toasted, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
