Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a square baking pan.

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the coconut oil. Add the maple syrup and vanilla extract, and mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the almond flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until well combined. Fold in the dark chocolate chips.

Transfer the batter to the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

While the brownies are baking, prepare the whipped coconut cream. Chill a can of full-fat coconut milk in the refrigerator overnight.

Open the can of coconut milk and scoop out the solidified cream into a mixing bowl. Add the coconut sugar and cacao powder. Whip with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.

Once the brownies are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool in the pan for 30 minutes.

Cut the brownies into squares and serve with a dollop of whipped coconut cream on top.
