In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, sesame seeds, and black pepper to make the marinade.

Slice the tofu into 4 equal patties.

Place the tofu patties into the marinade and let them marinate for at least 20 minutes.

Preheat the grill or a pan over medium heat.

Cook the tofu patties for about 5 minutes on each side, until they are browned and heated through.

Toast the burger buns.

Assemble the burgers by placing a tofu patty on the bottom half of each bun.

Top with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayonnaise, and ketchup.

Place the top half of the bun on each burger.
