Rinse the yellow split peas under cold water.

In a large pot, heat some oil and sauté the onion, carrot, celery, and garlic until softened.

Add the rinsed split peas, vegetable stock, turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt, and black pepper to the pot.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 30-40 minutes until the split peas are tender.

Use an immersion blender or a regular blender to blend the soup until smooth.

Stir in lemon juice and adjust seasoning if needed.
