Rinse the yellow mung dal thoroughly.

In a pressure cooker, add the rinsed dal, water, ginger, and garlic. Cook for 4-5 whistles.

Once the pressure is released, open the cooker and mash the dal lightly.

In a separate pan, heat vegetable oil and add cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and red chili powder. Cook for a minute.

Add the cooked dal to the pan and mix well. Simmer for 10 minutes.

Add garam masala, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes.

Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

Serve hot with rice or bread.
