  2. Mash the avocado and spread it on one side of each bread slice.
  3. Slice the tomato, cucumber, and red onion.
  4. Place the tomato slices on top of the avocado spread on two bread slices.
  5. Place the cucumber slices on top of the tomato.
  6. Add the red onion slices.
  7. Top with lettuce leaves.
  8. Spread hummus on the remaining two bread slices and place them on top of the lettuce.
  9. Season with salt and black pepper.
  10. Cut the sandwiches in half and serve.
