Lettuce wraps originated in East Asia and have become popular in many cuisines around the world.

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture, then cut into small cubes.
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce and sesame oil. Add tofu cubes and marinate for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger and cook until fragrant.
  4. Add marinated tofu cubes to the skillet and cook until browned.
  5. Add carrot, mushrooms, water chestnuts, and green onions. Stir-fry for 5 minutes.
  6. In a small bowl, mix hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and chili garlic sauce. Pour the sauce over the stir-fried vegetables and tofu.
  7. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  8. Spoon the mixture onto lettuce leaves and garnish with peanuts and cilantro.
  9. Roll up the lettuce leaves and serve as wraps.
