  3. Remove the pot from heat and let it cool slightly. Blend the soup using an immersion blender or transfer it to a blender and blend until smooth.
  4. Return the blended soup to the pot and stir in the chopped basil leaves. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and heat the soup for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  6. Serve hot with a garnish of fresh basil leaves.
