Syrian Olive Pastries

Olive pastries are a popular street food in Syria and are often enjoyed with a cup of hot tea.
This is vegan recipe. Dish can be prepared in 60 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 12.

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, olive oil, water, and salt. Knead the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 10 minutes.

In a separate bowl, mix together the chopped olives, parsley, onion, ground cumin, ground coriander, ground black pepper, and lemon juice.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Divide the dough into small balls and roll each ball into a thin circle.

Place a spoonful of the olive mixture in the center of each dough circle.

Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape and seal the edges.

Brush the pastries with olive oil and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

Place the pastries on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
