Sweet potatoes are not actually potatoes, they belong to the morning glory family.

This is vegan and gluten free recipe. Dish can be prepared in 70 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 7.

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel and slice the sweet potatoes into 1/4-inch thick rounds.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the flour and pecans.
  5. Grease a baking dish and arrange a layer of sweet potato slices on the bottom.
  6. Pour half of the butter mixture over the sweet potatoes.
  7. Sprinkle half of the flour and pecan mixture over the sweet potatoes.
  8. Repeat the layers with the remaining sweet potatoes, butter mixture, and flour and pecan mixture.
  9. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the sweet potatoes are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  11. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
