  1. Rinse and drain the black beans.

  3. Add onion, garlic, red bell pepper, carrot, and celery. Sauté until vegetables are tender.
  4. Add cumin, chili powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to coat the vegetables.
  5. Add black beans and vegetable stock to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  6. Use an immersion blender to blend the soup until smooth. Alternatively, transfer the soup to a blender and blend in batches.
  7. Serve the soup hot, garnished with fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lime juice.
