Spicy Black Bean Burgers
Black bean burgers are a popular vegetarian alternative to traditional meat burgers and are packed with fiber and protein.

Drain and rinse the black beans.

In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork or potato masher.

Finely chop the onion, garlic, red bell pepper, jalapeno pepper, and cilantro.

Add the chopped vegetables to the bowl with the mashed black beans.

Add the breadcrumbs, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper to the bowl.

Mix everything together until well combined.

Shape the mixture into patties and place them on a baking sheet.

Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat.

Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until crispy and browned.

Remove the patties from the pan and let them rest for 5 minutes.

Toast the hamburger buns.

Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun.

Top with lettuce, tomato, avocado, and salsa.
