Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until onion is translucent.

Add ground cumin and cayenne pepper. Stir for 1 minute.

Add sweet potatoes and vegetable broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until sweet potatoes are tender.

In a separate bowl, whisk together peanut butter and a cup of the soup broth until smooth. Pour the mixture back into the pot.

Add diced tomatoes, chickpeas, lime juice, and salt. Simmer for another 10 minutes.

Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro, roasted peanuts, and red pepper flakes.
