Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook until softened.

Add smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper to the pot. Stir well to coat the onions and garlic.

Add green peas and vegetable broth to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, until the peas are tender.

Use an immersion blender or transfer the soup to a blender to puree until smooth.

Stir in lemon juice and adjust seasoning if needed.

Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro.
