Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Remove the stems from the portabello mushrooms and wipe them clean.

In a small bowl, mix together the pizza sauce, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.

Place the portabello mushrooms on a baking sheet and brush both sides with olive oil.

Spread a spoonful of the pizza sauce mixture on each mushroom.

Top with mozzarella cheese, cherry tomatoes, and fresh basil leaves.
