Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp.

Drain the green beans and transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Drain again and pat dry.

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the orange zest and almonds, and cook for 2-3 minutes until the almonds are lightly toasted.

Add the green beans to the skillet and toss to coat them with the orange zest and almonds. Season with salt and black pepper.

Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the green beans are heated through.
