Onion Soup
Onion soup is a traditional French soup dating back to the Roman times. It was originally considered a poor man’s food, but has now become a popular dish worldwide.
This is vegan recipe. Dish can be prepared in 60 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 9.

Slice the onions.

Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.

Add the onions and cook until caramelized, stirring occasionally.

Sprinkle flour over the onions and stir well.

Pour in the vegetable broth and white wine.

Season with salt and black pepper.

Simmer for 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Slice the baguette and place on a baking sheet.

Toast the baguette slices in the oven until crispy.

Ladle the soup into oven-safe bowls.

Place a toasted baguette slice on top of each bowl.

Sprinkle grated Gruyere cheese over the baguette slices.

Place the bowls under the broiler until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
