  2. Heat ghee in a large pan and add cumin seeds, cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom pods, and bay leaf. Fry for a minute until fragrant.
  3. Add sliced onions and cook until golden brown.
  4. Add the rinsed rice and stir well to coat the grains with ghee and spices.
  5. Pour in water and add salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.
  6. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before fluffing the rice with a fork.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
