Green beans are actually immature or young pods of common beans and are often referred to as string beans or snap beans.

  2. Drain the beans and immediately transfer them to an ice bath to stop the cooking process.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the green beans to the skillet and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they are heated through.
  5. Remove from heat and drizzle with lemon juice. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  6. Let the beans rest for 5 minutes before serving.
