Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add onion and garlic, sauté until softened.

Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, black pepper, and sugar.

Stir well and bring to a simmer.

Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
