Cook the rice according to package instructions.

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, and red bell pepper. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine.

Add the black beans (with their liquid) to the skillet. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.

Add the cooked rice to the skillet and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes.

Serve the rice and beans with a sprinkle of cilantro and a squeeze of lime juice.
