  4. Stir in cumin powder, chili powder, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Add the kidney beans and canned diced tomatoes with their juice. Stir well.
  6. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  8. Stir in fresh cilantro and lime juice.
  9. Serve hot with rice or tortillas.
