Meatless Mincemeat
Mincemeat used to contain actual meat, but over time the recipe evolved to become a meatless dessert.
This is vegan and gluten free recipe. Dish can be prepared in 110 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 11.

In a large bowl, combine the apples, dried mixed fruits, vegetable suet, brown sugar, lemon zest, orange zest, mixed spices, brandy, and chopped almonds.

Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Roll out the pie crust and line a pie dish with it.

Fill the pie crust with the mincemeat mixture.

Cover the pie with another layer of pie crust and seal the edges.

Make a few small slits on the top crust to allow steam to escape.

Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let it cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
